Annual Events

OVERVIEW OF ANNUAL EVENTS

Annual Events in the school encompass many aspects of school life.

Annual Events begin in February with Founders Day (to commemorate the birth of the school in 1900), the Sports meet and Avurudhu (Sinhalese and Tamil New year) in the first term, followed by the Swimming Meet, Serendipity and in the second term and Children’s Day, Sinhala and Tamil Day in the third term culminating in the Prize Giving and the school Carol Service at the end of year.

Sinhala Day hosted by the Sinhala Sahitya Sangamaya and Tamil day by the Tamil Manavar Sangam not only serve as brilliant showcases of student talent but as a reminder of the rich Sri Lankan heritage we are privileged to be a part of.

The multicultural and diverse ethnic composition of the student body of Ladies’ College teaches us not only simple tolerance of various racial identities, but also to appreciate our country’s traditional heritage.
